Twelve years ago when I left China and started living in Holland, I had a dream. My dream was to bridge China and the western world. During the past 12 years, I tried hard to find out my place in the Dutch society, by studying hard, accomplishing university degrees, getting the first internship, started working on projects, started working and getting promoted…

One year ago, I left a stable job, and founded my own consulting firm Silk Tree with two partners with whom I share the same passion and vision. I always know what my dream is, where I am ahead off and who I want to be.

One week ago, at Shenzhen fashion week, my dream came true.

It is clear that there is more than only New York, London, Paris and Milan. That is the feeling you quickly get when attending Shenzhen Fashion Week 2016. Talking about fashion in China, this is the place to be! Nearly 300.000 people work in the fashion industry in Shenzhen. In Shenzhen, fashion is just as normal as tap water.

This week 6 Dutch fashion designers attend Shenzhen Fashion Week 2016 in Shenzhen, China. It is held from the 18th until the 25th of March at OCT harbor. Sponsored by the Dutch Consulate of Guangzhou, Silk Tree Consulting organized this trade mission. Yishi Huang, co-founder of Silk Tree Consulting, is on site to coordinate and support the brands at full scale to generate results for China market entry.
